Ala Moana, Twelve Oaks stores top Q2 Apple Retail bonus chartsApple retail stores 'Ala Moana' in Honolulu, Hawaii and 'Twelve Oaks' in Novi, Michigan, ranked atop a list of company stores who met or surpassed their CPU sales goal for the second quarter of fiscal 2004. The two stores surpassed their sales goal by 140% and 147%, respectively.
Stores 'The Westchester' in White Plains, New York, 'Crossgates' in Albany, New York, and 'King of Prussia' in Pennsylvania rounded out the top five. In all, nearly 6 dozen stores met their quotas. Part time employees of these qualifying stores will receive a $500 bonus for the quarter, while full time workers take home an extra grand. Unlike the previous quarter, an iPod sales goal was not in affect.
On average, Apple retail stores achieved a 56% attach rate on sales of AppleCare Protection Plans for the week ending April 3, 2004, sources said. This means that over half of Apple's retail CPU sales are being sold with accompanying extended protection plans. The average attach rate for protection plans sold with iPods was 13%, up approximately 2% from the week before.
"We're creeping towards CompUSA, who is still selling iPod protection plans to about 35% of iPod buyers," Apple store management reportedly told employees last week. The company has reportedly set a goal of achieving an overall 25% attach rate on protection plans sold with iPods at Apple retail locations.
Meanwhile, Apple has updated its job listings with an Assistant Store Manager position for an Apple retail store in the Stonestown mall in San Francisco. This appears to confirm rumors that company would be opening a second San Francisco store at the mall, first reported by AppleInsider in February.
Further additions to the Apple jobs website indicate that at least three other stores are currently in the works. Management positions are being sought for locations listed as 'Santa Rosa-Santa Rosa Place, CA', ' Rockaway-Rockaway, NJ', and 'Bridgewater, NJ.'
