Apple schedules June Apple Retail meeting

Apple Computer, Inc. has scheduled an Apple Retail meeting for all current retail locations on June 6th, according to reliable sources. The meeting will take place on a Sunday, like previous Apple retail store meetings.

Over the course of the year, Apple reportedly hosts quarterly retail meetings, where employees are typically briefed on mostly public information, but are also provided with a slight glimpse of upcoming events and services.

During a quarterly meeting in September, Apple retail employes were privy to plans for AppleCare for iPod, which was formally announced in late November. At the following meeting in early February, employees were briefed on company plans to introduce a ProCare service and Genius Bar reservation system, which later went public April 1st.

The meetings typically consist of keynote presentations which are created by Apple's retail division and then distributed to Apple retail store managers. The presentations have traditionally provided an overview of recent retail figures, broken down into digestible form. A analysis of sales figures and their relevance to each store, average performance charts for all retail stores, and individual store performance charts are a few examples of the information usually included in the presentations.

On the other hand, sources said it would be unexpected and unusual for the quarterly meeting to contain any information pertaining to new product announcement.
