Apple Prepping External CD-RW Solutions

With all the recent talk of Apple's forthcoming iMusic MP3 Player and Recorder application, as well as the implementation of hybrid DVD/CD-RW drives into forthcoming Macintosh systems, current Macintosh owners may be feeling a little left out.

However, if sources are on target, current Apple Macintosh system owners may have the opportunity to jump on the iMusic and CD-Recording bandwagon with a series of new Apple branded external CD-RW solutions that are rumored to be under development in Cupertino.

According to sources, Apple, along with third party hardware vendors, have been hard at work on a set of external CD-RW drives for previous Macintosh systems supporting either USB or FireWire interfaces.

Currently it is unknown when these new Apple-branded peripherals are set to hit market, but sources say the units will sport stylish Apple enclosures and will be bundled with Apple's forthcoming iMusic software.

Further information will be published when it becomes available.
