Apple bundles three months of Apple Arcade access with new device purchases

New device purchases net a free three-month trial of Apple Arcade, adding to Apple's existing Apple TV+ offer.

Available for a limited time, the promotion starts on Oct. 22 and is applicable to new iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and iPod touch purchases. Previously, Apple Arcade trials were limited to one month of free service to all comers.

The new deal sweetens the pot for buyers and gives users who are new to Apple's ecosystem a taste of the company's services portfolio.

In addition to Apple Arcade, new device purchases come with three months of Apple TV+ gratis. Both services are normally priced at $4.99 per month, meaning the offer is worth about $30.

There are stipulations that come with the promotion. For example, buyers who claimed an Apple TV+ trial with a previous purchase are not eligible for a second grace period.

Apple is working hard to promote its services lineup amid stiff competition from Amazon, Netflix, Microsoft and other major tech industry players. In a bid to better position its products, the iPhone maker will later this year roll out a services bundle called Apple One that wraps Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, iCloud storage and the forthcoming Apple Fitness+ into tiered monthly plans.
