It's expected that Apple will see its gross margins shrink at the end of 2014 as the company is expected to introduce a completely redesigned "iPhone 6," though one analyst sees margins trending upwards once again by the March 2015 quarter.

Ahead of an expected special event in September, Apple suppliers are supposedly ramping up manufacturing of both 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch iPad models, with the larger version expected to debut as soon as this quarter.

A Friday morning rumor out of the Far East suggests that only one of Apple's next-generation handsets -- the 4.7-inch "iPhone 6" -- will be ready for launch at the company's anticipated September media event, as the larger 5.5-inch model will allegedly not even enter production until that month.
