Apple updates Dark Sky app with minor updates, bug fixes

Credit: Dark Sky

Apple has updated the Dark Sky app for the first time in months with under-the-hood changes and other minor features.

The update, version 6.8.6, introduces improved VoiceOver support and adds Apple Watch complications that update more frequently. Additionally, alongside other other stability and performance improvements, it fixes an issue that could have prevented the moon phase from updating.

Apple acquired the Dark Sky app in March 2020. It pulled the app from Android later that year, and plans to shut it down completely by the end of 2022.

In iOS 15, Apple has updated the stock Weather app with features that echo Dark Sky. That includes an overhauled design, more detailed weather forecasts, and other features seemingly pulled from the app.

Dark Sky can be purchased from the App Store for $3.99.
