Apple is expected to incorporate Wi-Fi 6e in the "iPhone 13," which will lead to big revenue gains for suppliers of the chips.

Wi-Fi 6e will incorporate the 6GHz spectrum for the first time, doubling the bandwidth available for consumer devices. Router companies have already announced support for the new standard, and Apple is expected to be one of the first companies to use it in a smartphone.

According to Digitimes Asia, Apple will use Wi-Fi 6e in the "iPhone 13" and cause suppliers big revenue gains in the second half of 2021. Android vendors are also expected to take advantage of the technology in upcoming smartphones, making the new Wi-Fi standard mainstream.

Suppliers Win Semiconductors, Advanced Wireless Semiconductor Company (AWSC), and GaAs epi-wafer supplier Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company (VPEC) will be sourced for the Wi-Fi 6e chips needed to power smartphone devices. These companies are crucial partners for processing 5G and Wi-Fi 6e components for chipmakers like Qualcomm, Broadcom, and MediaTek.

Apple is expected to announce the "iPhone 13" in September. It may have features like a smaller notch, better cameras, and 120Hz display refresh.
