'Ted Lasso' wins four Hollywood Critics awards, more than any other show

breakout hit "Ted Lasso" has won four awards, including Best Actor for star Jason Sudeikis, in the inaugural year of the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards.

From its 15 nominations, "Ted Lasso" beat all other shows to land a total of four awards.

  • Best Actor in a Streaming Series, Comedy
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Streaming Series, Comedy
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Streaming Series, Comedy
  • Sudeikis, who took the Best Actor award, is also co-creator and co-writer of the series. Best actor went to Brett Goldstein, who as well as playing Roy Kent, is a writer on the show.

    The best actress was Hannah Waddingham, who plays the owner of the show's football team.

    At the same time, Apple TV+ series "Servant" took a fifth award for the night. It honored Rupert Grint as best supporting actor in drama, for "Servant."

    Separately, "Ted Lasso" has been nominated for 20 Emmys, a record for the most nominated comedy series in its first season. The 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on September 19.
