The Lincoln assassination limited series "Manhunt" coming to Apple TV+ adds Anthony Boyle and Lovie Simone as leads alongside Tobias Menzies.

'Manhunt' chronicles the 12-day hunt for John Wilkes Booth after Lincoln's assassination

The new limited series follows the hunt for John Wilkes Booth based on the bestselling book "Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer." Tobias Menzies was already cast as Edwin Stanton, Lincoln's war secretary and friend who is driven nearly to madness by the search for Booth.

According to Deadline, Lovie Simone will play Mary Simms, a former slave of the doctor who treated John Wilkes Booth's injury. The doctor is played by Anthony Boyle, who also gives safe harbor to Booth.

The series is produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios and co-produced by Lionsgate in association with POV Entertainment, Walden Media, and 3 Arts Entertainment. The showrunner and executive producer is Monica Beletsky, known for "Fargo" and "Friday Night Lights."

The release window for "Manhunt" is unknown. Watch it on Apple TV+ for $4.99 per month or via any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle.
