Subscribing to read magazines on your iPad is nothing new. Amazon has been doing it for years with Kindle Unlimited, Texture used to do it until Apple bought them, and used it as the core of Apple News+. They're very different, however, and choosing which is right for you comes down to what they offer beyond magazines.
