Sport-loving iOS device owners got a pair of updates on Monday in the form of a new version of the NBA's Game Time app and a redesign for Yahoo's Sportacular Pro app.
Ahead of the start of the 2013-2014 season, the NBA has updated its official Game Time app for the iPad. NBA Game Time version 5.0 doesn't have much in the way of redesigns or new features, but the app does have "enhanced support for the 2013-2014 NBA preseason."
That means users can now track their favorite teams as they make ready for the start of the next season. Preseason games are already loaded in the app's schedule, as is additional information on teams, players, and the league in general. The app also includes a number of video options, keeping fans up to date with the latest in league happenings.
NBA Game Time for iPad 2013-2014 is available as a free download in the App Store. It is a 16.4MB app, and it requires an iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
Yahoo's Sportacular Pro goes universal, gets fantasy integration
Yahoo's Sportacular Pro hit version 4.2 on Monday, with the new update bringing universal iOS device support to the app. Now, users buying the app on an iPhone or iPod can also access it on the iPad, as well as across the web if they are signed in to Yahoo.
In addition to iPad support, version 4.2 brings more content and stats so users can follow their Yahoo Fantasy Football player details easily within the app. It also features new breaking news alerts for big sports stories, as well as a number of redesigns and feature fixes for iOS 7. The app no longer supports Facebook chat, however.
Yahoo Sportacular Pro is available in the App Store for $5.00. The 37.5MB download requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or higher.
