Apple on Thursday released a predicted refresh of the Apple Store app for iPhones and iPads, enhanced with a new recommendation system as well as features for customers shopping in person.
The updated app will now suggest products and accessories based on devices a person already owns, as long as they're linked to an Apple ID. Likewise, shop visitors can use an iPhone to scan a product and check compatibility, then buy it directly if they so choose.
The update also provides information on workshops and other events at local stores, along with times for reservations and Personal Pickup orders. If a user has items saved to Favorites, the app will trigger a notification if something's in stock at an outlet they're currently browsing.
Lastly Apple has overhauled the Account tab, making it easier to find and change various details, such as shipping and billing.
The Apple Store app is a free download, and requires iOS 9.
