Earlier this year, rock band Linkin Park shot an episode of Apple's "Carpool Karaoke: The Series" due to debut on Apple Music, though a release date was postponed indefinitely after the unexpected death of lead singer Chester Bennington. On Thursday, the band announced the installment will air next week.
In a post to Linkin Park's official Facebook page, the band teased the release of its "Karaoke" showing, which is slated to drop "this time next week" on Facebook.
"Karaoke" is normally restricted to Apple Music subscribers, but the episode featuring Bennington and comedian Ken Jeong will be available to stream for free.
Apple filmed the Linkin Park episode in July, about one week prior to Bennington's death. At the time, the company and series creator James Corden agreed it would be up to Bennington's family and friends to decide whether to air the episode.
In a brief statement to Twitter on Thursday, Bennington's wife Talinda gave her blessing to share the show with his fans.
"With all of our blessings," she said.
Whether the "Karaoke" episode will also be made available through Apple Music is unclear. Apple did not tease the Linkin Park installment on its YouTube channel this week, instead previewing upcoming pairings Joe Jonas and Camila Cabello, and Tyler Perry and Neil Patrick Harris.
