Apple Music has promoted current artist relations chief Ryan Newman to its head of editorial in the U.K. and Ireland.

The BBC alumnus will fill the role left by Austin Daboh, the current head of editorial for Apple Music, who left for Atlantic Records in June.
Newman's new position was first announced by Daboh, who tweeted a congratulatory message to the new editorial chief on Tuesday.

Another black brother given a leading position at a global company.
After spending 11 years as an editor for BBC Radio 1, Newman joined Apple Music in 2018 as a music manager before moving on to his previous position of head of artist relations, Billboard reported.
The head of editorial oversees Apple Music's playlist ecosystem and various marketing initiatives. In this position, Newman will report to the head of Apple Music U.K., George Egratoudis.
