Apple's latest iPhone 15 ad spot promotes the battery life of the iPhone 15 Plus, by using an animated singing power outlet.
A still from Apple's 'Miss You' iPhone 15 Plus ad spot
The iPhone 15 Plus has a massive battery life for a non-Pro model, with it capable of up to 26 hours of video playback or up to 100 hours of audio from a single charge. In its latest commercial for its iPhone 15 family, it demonstrates the point by showing how an outlet misses recharging the iPhone 15 Plus.
Lasting 38 seconds and published to Apple's official YouTube channel on Sunday evening, the spot titled "Miss You" starts off showing the iPhone 15 Plus near a pair of wall outlets. The lower outlet shifts from its "shocked face" appearance, and starts singing to the iPhone, which gets picked up and used around the apartment, before its owner leaves.
The lower outlet sings lines from the track "Way Too Long" by Doe Boy, with the upper outlet adding backing vocals. The song's lyrics lend themselves to a phone charging situation, with words including "At night, I remember when you and I were inseparable," having "pure energy," and how the outlet "can't wait for you to come back home."
Before the Apple logo cuts in to end the video, the ad spells out the feature with the words "Loooooong battery life."
The supporting description for the video lists some of the main features of the iPhone 15 Plus, including its "Big scree. Big Battery Life," the Dynamic Island replacing the notch, the 48MP main camera, and USB-C.
