Made in collaboration with Tokyo fashion house Ambush, the new Beats Powerbeats wireless headphones glow green when in the dark.
Now available in the Apple Store, the new Powerbeats High-Performance Wireless Earphones - Ambush Glow, feature the same internals as the company's current Powerbeats 4 models. However, they now stand out with a green glow in the dark, and still manage a faintly mint-like glow during daytime hours.
The finish is designed by Ambush, a Tokyo firm co-founded and led by creative director Yoon Ahn. She designed the finish and says it was part of her aim to bring the flavor of her city to live.
"I thought it would be really cool to design a product that could capture that same city energy when you're outside late at night listening to music," she said.
The new Powerbeats feature an Ambush logo alongside the regular Beats one. They also come in a color-coordinated pouch, and the set will be available for $199.95.
That is $50 more than the non-glowing Powerbeats High-Performance Wireless Earphones. Those are still available for $149.95 in the Apple Store, where regular AirPods cost $199, and AirPods Pro are $249.
