The Apple Support app lets users get technical support and service for their Apple devices from an iPhone or iPad. Apple on Tuesday rolled out version 4.4 of the app, which is a free download on the App Store.

Most notably, version 4.4 allows users to get AppleCare+ Express Replacement service from directly within the app. The AppleCare+ benefit allows users to request a replacement for a damaged iPhone without first needing to send in their old device.

Previously, Express Replacement was only available via phone call or Apple.com chat.

Additionally, version 4.4 of the Apple Support app also brings compatibility for Apple's updated iPad mini 6 and lets users buy additional AppleCare coverage for their Apple Watches and AirPods.

Apple also says that version 4.4 introduces bug fixes, performance enhancements, and other under-the-hood improvements.
