Apple TV+ is filling out the cast of retro-future dramedy "Hello Tomorrow!," with Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver reportedly set to star opposite Billy Crudup in the half-hour show.
Weaver, who was nominated for Academy Awards for her work in "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Animal Kingdom," is set to play Barbara Billings, the manipulative mother of Crudup's character, reports Deadline.
"Hello Tomorrow!" follows the story of Jack (Crudup), who hawks lunar timeshares with a group of fellow traveling salesmen. Jack is described as "a salesman of great talent and ambition whose unshakable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his co-workers and revitalizes his desperate customers but threatens to leave him dangerously lost in the very dream that sustains him."
Crudup and Weaver are joined by Hank Azaria, Haneefah Wood, Alison Pill, Nick Podany and Dewshane Williams, the report says.
The show was created by Amit Bhalla and Lucas Jansen, who will write and executive produce alongside director Jonathan Entwistle and Crudup. Stephen Falk, Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil and Noah Weinstein are also on board to executive produce.
Crudup also stars in Apple TV+ original "The Morning Show" as Cory Ellison, a role that won him an Emmy and a Critics Choice award.
Apple TV+ boasts a solid slate of original series including "Ted Lasso," "Dickinson," "Mythic Quest" and "Foundation." The tech giant is reportedly looking to boost production and plans to release one new movie or series a week in 2022.
