Garmin unveils Venu 2 Plus smartwatch that's compatible with Siri

By Mike Peterson

Garmin has announced a new fitness-focused GPS smartwatch that allows users to send texts or ask questions via Siri voice commands.

The Garmin Venu 2 Plus

The Garmin Venu 2 Plus is a fitness and activity tracker with smartwatch capabilities baked in. It features energy monitoring, stress tracking, women's health features, and a pulse oximeter, among other health-focused features.

Unlike previous Garmin smartwatches, the Venu 2 Plus is also compatible with third-party voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant. Garmin says users can send texts, ask questions, control smart home devices, and more from their wrist. Garmin says that, unlike most smartwatches, it's compatible with both iPhone and Android.

The Garmin smartwatch also includes safety features like incident detection and a range of fitness features and preloaded workout types. Its smartwatch features include built-in music streaming, smart notifications, and a watch face and App Store.

On the design side, the Venu 2 Plus has a 43mm watch case with stainless steel bezels. It sports a Gorilla Glass AMOLED display and battery life up to nine days.

The Venu 2 Plus, which earned a CES 2022 Innovation Award, retails for $449.99. It's currently available on Garmin.com. It comes in Silver Stainless, Slate Stainless, and Cream Gold colorways.
