Twelve South has updated its BackPack for the 24-inch iMac, giving users a way to hide external drives and other items connected to the iMac from view.
The BackPack has been around for a few years, providing extra physical storage capacity for the Mac that's out of view. Now, Twelve South has updated the accessory, specifically for the 24-inch iMac.
Made from aluminum, the new BackPack attaches to the back of the iMac stand. Vented to minimize weight, the BackPack creates a small shelf that spans the width of the stand, and is large enough to hold a few external drives or a USB-C hub, to help unclutter the desk.
To help prevent errant cables from hanging and becoming visible, the BackPack includes a peripheral strap and coated wire twists to hold everything up and hidden from view.
While previous models of the BackPack clipped around the stand, the 24-inch iMac version uses a two-part saddle clip that locks into the oval opening in the iMac stand. The holster is clear, so that it isn't so visually obtrusive from the front, but the shelf itself is white.
The TwelveSouth BackPack for the 24-inch iMac is available now, priced at $44.99.
