On this week's episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts discuss the launch of the Eve Play, Ecobee's new doorbell update, and our favorite HomeKit devices.
HomeKit Insider
After previously being announced, the Eve Play is now available to order. This AirPlay-enabled box enables you to stream music to your existing bookshelf speakers.
Lutron released a new app this week for iPad and while it looks great, it isn't anything more than an experience app to demo Lutron products before you buy them.
Ikea was in the news this week with the launch of its new sensors. There is a new contact sensor, leak sensor, and motion sensor that will all work with its new hub and, eventually, Matter.
Finally, Ecobee issued an update to its smart video doorbell that enables the long-awaited activity alert functionality. This allows you to get smart alerts on your devices -- including Apple TV -- when motion is detected.
After the news, we discussed smart home vacuums once more, breaking down some of the differences and why we appreciate them.
Finally, your hosts then talk about their favorite smart home devices that work with Apple Home.
