Capcom's "Resident Evil 4" is now available to download on iPhone 15 Pro and the full game unlock in-app purchase is half off until January 17.

'Resident Evil 4'

"Resident Evil 4" is a universal app that runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Customers need to be able to download 30GB of additional data to play the game, plus the game has an in-app purchase for the full game unlock.

Apple heavily promoted the Resident Evil series for the iPhone 15 Pro and its A17 Pro processor. The chipset enables high-fidelity graphics with hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

You'll play as Leon S. Kennedy six years after the Racoon City incident. He's been hired to rescue the president's kidnapped daughter from a new undead menace.

The in-app purchase for full game unlock is 50% off until January 17, making it $29.99. Additional content like DLC is available as separate purchases.

The in-app purchase is not a shared family purchase, meaning members of an Apple family will each have to buy the full game unlock separately. The purchase does unlock the game across iPhone, iPad, and Mac for a single Apple ID.

Save data syncs over Game Center between iPhone and iPad. A section of the game release notes explicitly says "save data cannot be uploaded and downloaded between macOS and iOS devices."

Compatibility

"Resident Evil 4" requires macOS 13.0 or later and a Mac with an M1 chip or later. For iPhones, it's iOS 17.0 or later, and a device with the A17 Pro chip or later -- just the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For iPad, it needs iPadOS 17.0 or later and a device with the M1 chip or later.
