Amazon Prime Day is a great opportunity to upgrade the display you use with your Mac. Here's your chance to nab a deal on a bigger or second screen.
Amazon Prime Day monitor deals Amazon's Prime Day 2024 sale is live, with many deals available across practically every product category you can imagine. As an opportune time to see some seriously huge deals on high-priced items, it's worth considering the purchase of a new monitor.
A new screen can be beneficial in a few ways, such as replacing an existing older monitor to one that's bigger and with a higher resolution. There's also the opportunity to use multiple monitors, with your old one becoming a second screen, expanding your Mac's workspace.
If you're a MacBook Pro or iPad Pro user, you may even want to get a screen so you can have the desktop experience at home.
Whatever your reason for getting a monitor, here are some of the better choices available on Amazon today.
The Apple Studio Display is a 27-inch 5K Retina screen that offers up to 600 nits of brightness and P3 wide color support. But its features go beyond just the picture.
It's also a screen that has a trio of studio-quality microphones, as well as a six-speaker system with Spatial Audio support. There's also the 12MP Ultra Wide camera, complete with Center Stage support so you're always in the center of the picture in a video call.
You can get the Apple Studio Display in a couple of discounted configurations for Prime Day. The standard glass version with the Tilt-Adjustable Stand is down from $1,599 to $1,299.99, saving you $300.
If you want the Tilt-and Height-Adjustable Stand instead, the discount shifts you down from $1,999 to $1,699. That's 15% off, or $300 off.
The Samsung M8 series smart monitors combine elements of a computer screen with those of a smart TV. The M80D version is a 32-inch screen with a 4K resolution and HDR 10+ support, and it has a detachable SlimFit camera for video calls.
For the smart TV side, it also provides a variety of over-the-air apps so you can stream shows without needing a set-top box. There's also KVM functionality, screen switching, a selection of ports in the rear, and even a solar-powered remote control.
The Samsung M8 Smart Monitor (M80D) is available for $499.99 on Amazon and through Samsung's direct channel. That's $200 off its list price.
If you like the idea of a large workspace but not having two physical monitors, Samsung's Odyssey OLED G9 could be the answer. The extremely wide display measures 49 inches, with it also curving in to make it easier to see the edges.
Its dual QHD resolution means you still get a high resolution for its size, along with a maximum 240Hz refresh rate and high contrast thanks to OLED. Not only that, but it even has support for Bixby and Alexa when used with its SmartThings integration.
Normally listed at $1,799.99, it's available for $1,079.99 at Amazon, a discount of 40% off for Prime Day. You can also pick it up through Samsung's direct channel for the same price.
Not every monitor has to be at a desk. If you own an iPad Pro or a MacBook Pro, you may want one you can carry around, like the Asus ROG Strix Portable Gaming Monitor.
Measuring 17.3 inches, it's a 1080p screen that connects up to a host via USB-C or Micro HDMI. Despite being portable, it has other typical high-end screen features, including an IPS panel, Adaptive-Sync support, 240Hz refresh rate, and a Smart Case for transport. It even has a three-hour battery.
The Asus ROG Strix 17.3-inch Portable Gaming Monitor is usually listed at $469, but it's available now for $449, saving you $20.
You don't have to break the bank to get a second screen for your setup. If you're into getting a cheap additional monitor, consider the Asus TUF Gaming 23.8-inch monitor.
Running at 1080p, the display includes FreeSync Premium support to minimize screen tearing for gaming, as well as Adaptive-Sync support. It can operate at up to 165Hz with a 1ms response time, and it even has some game-specific features to enhance the screen during gameplay.
The Asus TUF Gaming 23.8-inch Monitor is already a good value with a list price of $159.99, but you can save 26% on it today, with it selling for $119.99.
