Slightly earlier than the last camp in 2023, Apple is now inviting applications for the latest in its annual program. Each year the Apple Entrepreneur Camp is designed to help underrepresented and female founders of app companies to accelerate their learning.
"This year, we are incorporating several different cohorts into the program, including our first in-person session since 2019," says Apple in a statement. "We're excited to welcome back founders to Apple Developer Center, where they'll have the opportunity to learn from Apple experts and meet other developers in-person."
Apple has divided its 2024 annual camp into different cohorts. One is an in-person cohort for Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous founders, while a second will also provide in-person training is for female founders.
Then there is also a combined female and underrepresented cohort which will take place virtually.
Apple says that the in-person sessions will take place at its Apple Developer Center -- and that it's the first time the program hasn't been entirely virtual since 2019.
During the course of the program, developers will receive coding lessons from Apple experts. They will also get to meet with Apple executives, and following the program will a year's membership of the Apple Developer Program.
Applications are open now, via Apple's developer site, and close on September 3, 2024. This year there is a difference to when the program runs, however, with different start dates for each of the cohorts:
- Underrepresented founders: October 28 to November1
- Female founders and underrepresented founders: November 11 to November 15
- Female Founders: December 9 to December 13
While the first and last cohorts are to be based at the Apple Developer Center in Cupertino, applications are welcomed from developers worldwide. As well as an extensive eligibility criteria, Apple says that up to three people from any one organization can join the program.
