it commissioned "The Afterparty" series, and two months after the teaser, Apple has released a two-minute trailer for the show. Scripted by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the creators of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," the show concerns a murder of a high-profile and universally hated celebrity at a high school reunion's after-party.
The series appears similar to "Rashomon" and "Knives Out," where the events of the night are recounted through different characters' perspectives. Eight episodes are expected.
Tiffany Haddish, from "Girls Trip," plays the central character of Detective Danner. The partygoers, school friends, and suspects include Ben Schwartz, best known as Jean-Ralphio in "Parks and Recreation."
The series also stars Sam Richardson, Ike Barinholtz, Zoe Chao, Jamie Demetriou, John Early, and Dave Franco. Apple's new trailer also pins down the January 28 release date.
