Foxconn's Sriperumbudur plant in India is now making the iPhone 13, further diversifying Apple's supply chain and avoiding dependence on China.
As previously expected, Foxconn's India plant has now begun mass production of the iPhone 13, following a trial run in December 2021.
According to the region's Business Today, the move means that the Sriperumbudur plant near Chennai, is now manufacturing Apple's iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13.
''We are excited to begin making iPhone 13 -- with its beautiful design, advanced camera systems for stunning photos and videos, and the incredible performance of the A15 Bionic chip -- right here in India for our local customers,'' said Apple in a statement seen by the publication.
Foxconn's Sriperumbudur plant has been reopened following the protests over living and working conditions in the factory caused the local authorities to shut it down.
