On Saturday night, the animation-centric Annie Awards held its ceremony, handing out trophies to the best works of animation from the last year. Representing the AppleTV+ streaming service, its holiday animation "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" walked away with wins in four categories.

The short film picked up the award for Best Editorial - TV/Media, as well as winning Best Special Production, according to Deadline. It also won Best Character Animation - TV/Media and Best Direction - TV/Media.

The animation is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Charlie Mackesy, and concerns a boy's search for home as he travels with unlikely companions. The feature was produced with hand-drawn animation, based on Mackesy's illustrative style.

It is a NoneMore and Bad Robot Production for both Apple TV+ and the BBC, with the latter airing the premiere on December 25 in the United Kingdom before a wider Apple TV+ release.

This is not the first win for Apple TV+ at the Annie Awards, as it had previously won five categories in 2021 with "Wolfwalkers."
