After a tease at CES, Sony has officially unveiled its lineup of Bravia XR TVs compatible with the Apple TV app, AirPlay 2, and smart homes with HomeKit.
2023 Bravia XR lineup
Five new models round out Sony's lineup of smart TVs, with features including New XR Clear Image for a fully immersive home theater experience. They include X95L and X93L Mini LED, X90L Full Array LED, A95L QD-OLED, and A80L OLED.
Although the TVs are based on Google's Android TV system, each model supports the Apple TV app, AirPlay 2 for wireless streaming, and Homekit for controlling various smart home devices. They also have compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google services like Assistant voice search.
Additionally, Sony has Acoustic Center Sync for each television set, which syncs the TV's audio system with the center channel of a compatible Sony soundbar for immersive sound. Except for the X93L, the TVs have a new XR Clear Image feature to improve noise reduction and clarity with motion to reduce blurring.
With the help of frame tweeters, Acoustic Multi-Audio+ on the X95L raises the sound to match the image on the screen. Meanwhile, Acoustic Surface Audio+ is a feature of the A95L and A80L models, which uses actuators that vibrate to produce sound from the entire screen in perfect sync with what is being played on screen.
Gamers will also find exclusive features in the 2023 Bravia XR lineup with Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode for optimized picture quality while gaming and streaming on a PlayStation 5. And a new Game Menu lets players tailor settings for Motion Blur Reduction, VRR, and a Black Equalizer to increase the brightness in dark areas.
On the A95L, a Multi-View option lets users watch walk-throughs and gameplay guides side-by-side or use the Screen Size feature to concentrate gaming with a smaller, focused screen.
