After a critically acclaimed first season, "Hijack," a gripping thriller starring and executive produced by Idris Elba, will return to Apple TV+ for a second season.

"I was floored by the overwhelming audience response after season one. It's top secret what new situation unfolds for Sam Nelson but I can assure you we will bring the high octane back!," Elba said in a press release.
"Hijack," follows the journey of a hijacked plane that is on a seven-hour flight to London while authorities on the ground struggle to solve the crisis. Elba plays Sam Nelson, a skilled negotiator in the business world who must use all his expertise to rescue the lives of the passengers. It made its debut in June 2023.
The series has gained worldwide recognition as one of the top dramas on Apple TV+. It has received high praise from critics and fans, achieving a Certified Fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes and even making it onto the Nielsen Streaming Originals Top 10 list.
Apple TV+ also recently renewed "The Buccaneers," a drama based on Edith Wharton's unfinished novel started in the 1930s, for a second season.
