Amazon is developing an app for the Apple Watch, AppleInsider has learned, while Stitcher has updated its eponymous podcasting app with better support for the displays on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Amazon coming to Apple Watch
In response to inquiries this week about the prospect of an Apple Watch app, Amazon issued an official statement to TechCrunch, asserting that the company is "committed to being anywhere customers want to shop," including watches. "We have an Amazon shopping app for Android Wear and will look to expand to other devices," the statement added.
Sources have confirmed to AppleInsider that an app for Apple's upcoming wearable is in development.
Exact plans for the app are unknown, but if it mimics the Android Wear experience, it will support voice-based search, saving items to a Wish List, and even buying a product via 1-Click checkout.
Stitcher optimizes app design for iPhone 6, 6 Plus
Stitcher has updated the adaptive layout in its app's iPhone interface to better suit the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which at 4.7 and 5.5 inches have substantially more screen space than devices like the iPhone 5s.
Also new are a collection of bugfixes for problems with stability, playback performance, and crashes caused by ads. For BMW owners, Stitcher has streamlined the interface and changed it so that leaving the app will no longer halt audio.
Stitcher is a free download and runs on iPhones and iPads with iOS 7 or later.
