Apple's first feature-length animated film that explores the lost Irish legend of the Wolfwalkers is set to launch in theaters on November 13, and premiere on Apple TV+ on December 11.
"Wolfwalkers" tells the story of a young apprentice hunter, Robyn, who travels with her father to Ireland in hopes of eradicating the last wolf pack. Everything changes when she befriends another girl, Mebh, from a mysterious tribe rumored to transform into wolves at night.
The movie is directed by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart, who have worked together previously on "Song of the Sea."
Honor Kneafsey ("A Christmas Prince," "Miss you Already,") will voice Robyn, while newcomer Eva Whittaker will voice Mebh. "Wolfwalkers" also stars Sean Bean ("Lord of the Rings," "Game of Thrones,") Simon McBurney (Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy," "The Conjuring 2,") and Maria Doyle Kennedy ("The Tudors," "Orphan Black.")
According to Variety, the film is being produced by Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon, who worked on Nora Twomey's "The Breadwinner," which earned a Best Animated Feature nomination.
"Wolfwalkers" joins Apple TV+ slate of family-friendly programing, including "Snoopy in Space," and the family-friendly musical series "Central Park."
