A new report claims to have the dates of Apple's "iPhone 13" availability, and subsequent "AirPods 3" debut, though the source is sketchy.
Mockups of Apple's forthcoming "iPhone 13"
Following recent claims of the next iPhone launching in the third week of September, a new report says "iPhone 13" family orders will start shortly before then, on Friday, September 17. The same report says that the "AirPods 3" will be released almost a week later, on Thursday September 30.
Chinese publication IT Home is citing listings from an unspecified ecommerce app, which in turn were first posted on China's Weibo social media site. The dates make some sense given the expected September 14 event date, but the image could easily be either faked, or assumed by the e-commerce app's data supplier.
The screengrabs from this app show four "iPhone 13" models with this same September 17 date, plus a subsequent "AirPods 3" entry for the following week. The AirPods listing mentions that they are rated IPX4 for water resistance, but there is no other detail.
IT Home does not have a long or strong track record in Apple news. Most recently, it claimed that sources say LG Display is expecting increased orders from Apple for OLED iPhone and iPad screens.
This new announcement of launch dates does at least fit in approximately with analysts' claims of the new iPhone in the third week of September. It could also back up separate reports that Apple is planning multiple launch events during the month.
However, the ecommerce app is listing what are presumably availability dates, which could still mean that both new iPhones and new AirPods will be announced at the same event.
