Actor John Lithgow is set to star alongside Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan in Apple TV+ original film "Sharper," produced by Apple Films and A24.
Lithgow will take an as-yet-unannounced role in the film, which is scheduled to start principal photography on Monday, reports Deadline.
"Sharper" is based on The Black List spec script by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka, and follows the exploits of a con artist (Moore) as she navigates the upper echelons of New York City. The film's plot has not been fully disclosed, though the report says the story winds its way from the penthouses of Fifth Avenue to the "shadowy corners" of Queens.
Justice Smith and Briana Middleton will also star. "Sharper" is due to arrive in theaters and on Apple TV+.
Moore, who most recently worked with Apple on the limited series "Lisey's Story," is producing with Gatewood, Tanaka, Bart Freundlich, Erik Feig and Jessica Switch. Julia Hammer and Amy Herman are executive producers, with Jodie Caron named co-producer.
Lithgow, a two-time Oscar nominee who has won Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe awards, recently signed on to another Apple TV+ project, "Killers of the Flower Moon."
"Sharper" is the latest in a string of projects from Apple and A24 that includes Sofia Coppola's "On The Rocks," Tom Hanks vehicle "Greyhound," and "Boys State." Joel Coen's "The Tragedy of Macbeth" and a TV adaptation of Jandy Nelson's novel "The Sky is Everywhere" will soon arrive on the service.
