Apple TV+

has released a first-look trailer for "Pachinko," a new drama series following four generations of a Korean family streaming on March 25.

In production since late 2020, Apple says its new series "is a sweeping saga," and that it "chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations." It stars Oscar-winner Yuh-Jung Youn, plus Lee Minho, Jin Ha, and Minha Kim, and premieres on Friday, March 25, 2022.

The series is written by Soo Hugh, based on Min Jin Lee's best-selling novel. It's an international drama, shot across the US, Japan, and Korea, and will be told in Korean, Japanese and English.

Apple courted the series way back in 2018, with the tech giant signing a series order in April 2019. Due to COVID-19, the series had hit some unexpected delays.

Apple finalized the cast and crew for the series in October of 2020 and began filming the same month, with crews working in parallel on multiple continents.

"Pachinko" joins Apple's growing catalog of international dramas, such as "Tehran," "Losing Alice," and the upcoming French-English series "Liaison."
