Anker has released a new version of the MagGo power bank for MagSafe iPhones with a better location for the USB-C charging port.
2022 version of Anker MagGo
The new feature of the Anker 622 MagGo battery is the placement of the 18W USB-C port. The old model had the port at the bottom, and the new version moves the port onto the side, likely more convenient for iPhone users.
The integrated foldable stand is the feature that sets the MagGo MagSafe charger apart from competing products. People can use the charger held onto their iPhone like Apple's power bank, or use the stand to prop it up on a desk.
The 5,000mAh battery integrated into the unit can provide up to 17 hours of battery life. Or, as the product page notes, 0.8 iPhone 13 charges, 0.8 iPhone 13 Pro charges, 0.5 iPhone 13 Pro Max charges, 0.95 iPhone 12 charges, 0.95 iPhone 12 Pro charges, or 0.65 iPhone 12 Pro Max charges.
Anker says people should use a power adapter with at least 12W of output for best charging results. Magnetic and metal attachments such as cards, keys, and pop grips will interfere with charging.
The company uses a Mini Cell battery technology that keeps it thinner than average portable chargers. It provides up to 7.5W of maximum power to an attached device and comes in five colors: black, blue, green, purple, and white.
