Now that CES has wrapped, the Homekit Insider podcast covers a bit more news before reviewing the Yale Smart Safe, and rounding up our favorite HomeKit buttons.
HomeKit Insider
When we recorded during CES, more news was still trickling out. We had more news also the following week that was worth covering.
Hunter Douglas announced new rebate options for its HomeKit-enabled shades. Samsung has debuted a change to its Matter pairing proccess that allows them to be discovered automatically, like its SmartThings accessories.
Kef is also releasing new colors of its KC62 force-cancelling subwoofer. This can be paired with many Kef speakers that support AirPlay 2.
Speaking of AirPlay 2, a little-known-brand WiiM revealed a new supported reciever. SmartMi debuted a new floor standing HomeKit fan.
Finally, Roborock gave us a look at its new Roborock S8 Pro Ultra. It now has two rollers, dual mop scrubbers, a redesigned docking station, and more suction power.
Stephen also showed off several HomeKit buttons. He walks through the updated Hue button, Wemo Stage, Aqara, and Eve button and shared his experience testing each of them.
Andrew then gives a hands on experience with the Rise indoor smart gardens that he got to demo out at CES. With up to three shelves and the ability to grow tomatoes, cauliflower, peppers, and more indoors, this is unlike any other indoor garden.
Lastly, we review the all-new Yale Smart Safe that launched last week. With HomeKit support, you can control the safe with the Home app or via Siri.
