With the launch of iOS 17, a slew of app updates hit devices. We covered a few of them on the episode, including Signals.
Also during the week, many smart home-oriented apps added support for StandBy mode and interactive widgets to make it easier to control your smart home. And, Signify has finally released the long-awaited Matter update, making the brands smart bulbs and sensors available in the cross-platform ecosystem.
Arlo also released a series of new cameras, an updated version of its Essentials doorbell, and a few standalone cameras. HomeKit support will be arriving in 2024.
Amazon had a massive event this past week, announcing a whole series of products and software updates. Notable for smart home users is its new hub, an updated version of Alexa, and the new Echo Show 8.
Finally, we round out the episode with a quick hands-on with the new Sonos Move 2. This updated portable speaker has stereo drivers, longer battery life, and more.
