Viktor Kozeny is a notorious figure who conducted a large scam in the post-Communist era. He lives in the Bahamas and has evaded prosecution, highlighting the difficulties in prosecuting financial crimes across borders. He's wanted by both the Czech Republic and the USA.
"This is a story of private jets, $20,000 dinners, and suitcases stuffed with cash. It's also a tale about the collapse of communism, the free-for-all that followed, and the birth of the oligarchs," the Apple Podcasts page reads. "And it's a story of plain-old human greed...of just how far the rich may go to get even richer."
Deadline has learned that Joe Nocera will host the eight-part series with the help of investigative journalist Peter Elkind. "The Pirate of Prague" is produced by Blanchard House. It falls under the umbrella of podcasts launched by Apple TV+.
The series will launch exclusively on Apple Podcasts on November 13. A three-minute-long trailer is currently available for those interested.
It was recently learned that while Apple has traditionally refrained from selling ads on its owned podcasts, recent developments suggest that the company may be considering a shift in its approach.
