Satechi is entering the smart home market with the new HomeKit-equipped Dual Smart Outlet, which is available to order starting today.
Smart outlets are some of the most popular and versatile smart home products and Satechi tries to differentiate itself with great features that we don't often see in one product.
Satechi kept the Dual Smart Outlet thin so that two could be plugged into a single standard wall receptacle. Each outlet can be controlled independently from one another and it is capable of monitoring energy consumption in real-time to better understand how different devices are using electricity.
The Dual Smart Outlet connects to Wi-Fi over 2.4GHz and works exclusively with Apple HomeKit and the Satechi Home app. When connected to the Home app, it can be scheduled or triggered with custom automation rules. It can also be tied into scenes with other HomeKit devices such as lights, switches, and more.
Satechi's new HomeKit Dual Smart Outlet is available starting today for $59.99 on Amazon and the manufacturer's website but can be 30-percent off using code DUALOUTLET.

From their website... "Simply use the native Apple Home app or download the free Satechi Home app in the App Store."
So it seems that it's not necessary to install/configure these things using a separate app. That would be very nice.
