A new Battlefield experience is coming to iPhone and iPad in 2022 as a standalone game with a skill-based experience.
Battlefield mobile will be a standalone game in the franchise
First-person shooting games have become popular for their competitive nature and fast action. Battlefield will soon join Call of Duty and PUBG as a popular mobile shooting game.
EA made the announcement on Thursday stating that the console game developer Dice would be working closely with the mobile developer Industrial Toys.
"Make no mistake, this is a standalone game," the press release read. "A completely different game from the one we're making for console and PC, designed specifically for the mobile platform. It's being built from the ground up by iToys to make Battlefield-on-the-go a reality and you can expect a fully-fledged, skill-based experience."
Apple has argued its A-series processors are powerful enough to bring console gaming experiences to mobile. The A14 found in the iPhone 12 and iPad Air 4 is powerful and easily competes with similar android offerings.
Apple introduced a new iPad Pro with an M1 processor, so that brings a whole new level of graphics power to the platform. EA hasn't shared any further details of the game, but said it is in a testing period ahead of its 2022 launch.
