As the Tuesday workday begins just west of the international date line, Apple customers in countries like Japan are receiving their 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro orders — and posting unboxing photos to social media platforms.

As is custom, early MacBook Pro owners are taking to Twitter, Instagram and other platforms to show off their new hardware. Apple latest MacBook models hit doorsteps on Tuesday following an unveiling and start to pre-orders last week.

Customers in Japan are already posting takes on the new machines, with some quick to point out the design's thicker and heavier chassis when compared to last year's top-end MacBook Pro models. Almost all users are making special note of the laptops' ports, which include an HDMI port and SDXC card slot for the first time in five years. MagSafe also makes a return and is prominently featured in a handful of a photos.

MacBook's Liquid Retina XDR Display with mini-LED backlighting is another hot topic, as is the screen's camera housing cutout. To gain additional screen real estate, Apple is employing an "all-screen" iPhone trick that integrates the relatively large camera module in a "notch" at the top center of the display. The result is a more expansive display that pushes already narrow bezels to the outer limits of MacBook Pro's cover.

Customers in New Zealand are receiving their orders by mail and through local retailers, but prospective buyers in Australia, Japan and other countries where the calendar has turned Oct. 26, can try their luck at a nearby Apple Store. Currently, Apple's online storefront is showing stock-outs of all configurations, though brick-and-mortar locations should see supplies of more popular models trickle in on launch day. How often initial stock will be replenished remains unclear.

Apple's redesigned MacBook Pro models feature mini-LED displays, powerful and efficient Apple Silicon chips, an assortment of ports, 1080p camera, an improved keyboard with function keys, MagSafe 3, audio enhancements and more.
