The upcoming Apple TV+ series called "Roar" gets its first trailer showcasing the twisted realities ordinary women must fight through in this eight-episode dark comedy anthology.
'Roar' tells eight stories about what it means to be a woman today
The debut trailer highlights the award-winning cast of actors including Academy, Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Nicole Kidman, who also executive produces the series. Other cast members include Cynthia Erivo, Issa Rae, Merritt Wever, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Meera Syal, Fivel Stewart, and Kara Hayward.
The eight-episode series is based on a book by Cecelia Ahern, which consists of short stories that tell what it means to be a woman today. Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive act as showrunners and creators for the series, which is the first to be created under their contract with Apple TV+.
The trailer shows how each story uses extraordinary situations as an allegory for the struggles of being a woman in modern society. A man places his wife on a literal pedestal, a woman dates a duck, and another woman struggles to be heard as each of the eight stories are teased in the video.
You can watch all eight episodes of "Roar" on Apple TV+ when it debuts on April 15. Customers can subscribe for $4.99 per month or via any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle.
