Microsoft launches online community for Mac admins

Microsoft 365 contains many widely-used productivity apps.

An official Microsoft Mac Admins forum has been launched to support IT professionals using Microsoft 365 or Intune on Macs.

The new forums are intended to become a central location for "valuable resources and insights" for people supporting Mac users with Microsoft apps in the enterprise.

"Mac management has been a focus for Microsoft 365 that is demonstrated in the macOS capabilities offered and we continue to see phenomenal growth and customer-interest in macOS management," writes Microsoft Intune senior product manager Arnab Biswas in a blog post. "So, we wanted to provide a platform where organizations, and specifically the IT community, can showcase their achievements, exchange tips and tricks, and collaborate with other Microsoft 365 or Intune administrators around the world."

Any Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Intune user can read and post on the forum. Access to the community appears to still be being rolled out, as at time of writing the service reports that "Conversations aren't loading right now... Please try again in a few minutes."

Microsoft Intune is a device management system. It's available in certain tiers of the Microsoft 365 subscription suite.

This is great news.

Microsoft 365's admin functions can be quite intimidating. The sheer scope of capabilities and the number of different sites you have to use… it's a bit nuts!

Not really applicable to this post, but if your workplace allows you to authenticate your office365 work account on personal devices, Onenote for ipad is an absolute godsend for meetings that require any diagraming/note taking.  That and teams calls through the Airpods are just so much more convenient.
