Some companies are coming out with thunderbolt 5 docks @ 80Gbps.
AI has even noted it, more exiting than yet another Tb4 dock.

Gigabit Ethernet is low end today.  Once your Dock crests the $299,  IP networking has to take a jump in speed.  USB ports and ability to run multiple monitors are simple table stakes today for Docks.
