Following after the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple is expected to bring out the Apple Watch Series 11. If previous scheduling is an indicator, the Apple Watch Series 11 is expected to launch in late 2025 alongside the iPhone 17.
At this extremely early stage, there are very scarce rumors about the Apple Watch Series 11. The above video about Apple Watch Series 10 provides some insight into the direction Apple could take its wearable.
Apple Watch Series 11 MicroLED display
An analyst report from April 2023 claimed that Apple will be using MicroLED display technology in an Apple Watch released in 2025. While this could describe the OLED-based Apple Watch Ultra, it could just as easily be about the Apple Watch Series 11.
The MicroLED display could offer the same localized dimming and contrast as an OLED screen. However, MicroLED is capable of a higher pixel density, resulting in higher resolutions, as well as brighter images.
The report added that the wearable using the technology will arrive in the second half of 2025.
However, there's no guarantee that the display will arrive. There have been claims of cancellations of projects related to the display. If true, this may further delay the screen's introduction, pushing it back to possibly the Apple Watch Series 12.
Apple Watch Series 11 health sensors
Apple is always looking for new ways to track the user's health using Apple Watch. The existing sensors are packed into a very limited space already, but more sensors could be coming.
Some speculate Apple could start tracking blood pressure using Apple Watch. While the readings wouldn't be able to provide a medical diagnosis, they would indicate a change in trends that might necessitate a doctor visit.
The holy grail of wearable technology will be non-invasive blood-glucose tracking. Apple is rumored to be working on such tech, but it is seemingly no where near ready for release.
Apple Watch band compatibility
A lot of questions have arisen in recent years over Apple Watch bands. It has been quite the feat for Apple to support the same two sizes of band through ten generations of Apple Watch, but rumors suggest it may not make it to eleven.
The now classic connectors were seen as innovative at launch and other smartwatch makers were quick to imitate Apple's approach. However, the ever thinning devices may soon need a new connector type, or new technology may require one.
Rumors of smart bands that act as external batteries, health sensors, or cameras keep coming, though there's no way for Apple to implement such a feature with the existing band type. Other rumors and patents indicate Apple could introduce a new magnetic connector.
For now, the old connectors still work and could continue to work on Apple Watch Series 11. Though, there is likely a time when they won't.
Apple Watch Series 11 price and release date
Apple rarely adjusts the prices of its core product line, so there is little chance of a price change for the 2025 models. Apple announces its new iPhone and Apple Watch lineups during an event every September, so expect to learn about Apple Watch Series 11 in September 2025.
