Apple Seeds Safari Beta 67

On Thursday, March 13th, Apple seeded select developers with beta 67 of their self-branded web browser. According to sources, the latest version of Safari boast full integration of both tabbed browsing and forms AutoFill. In previous builds, Safari shipped with these capabilities, but developers could only access them from the Safari "Debug" menu which could be switched on or off via the command line.

Cosmetically, the most notable change to the application, is the addition of an AutoFill button between the forward and refresh buttons in the main address bar. This button can be displayed or hidden via the browser's 'View' menu.

Additionally, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese languages have seen the early stages of implementation with beta 67 of Safari. Consequently, if your default Mac OS X Language is one of these 3, Safari will crash at launch. The immediate solution is to delete the corresponding language project file from Safari's 'Resources' directory. Apple will officially address the crash issue with the forthcoming build of Safari.

Safari is due out this fall as part of the 'Panther' (10.3) revolution to Mac OS X. More news on that in forthcoming publications.
