Apple alerts developers to upcoming iTunes Connect downtime

Apple on Wednesday sent out emails to developers, notifying them of an upcoming iTunes Connect maintenance update scheduled for next week.

According to the short note, Apple's iTunes Connect developer portal will be taken offline for about six hours starting at 6 a.m. Pacific on Sunday, Oct. 26. The downtime is most likely attributed to routine maintenance.

As with other iTunes Connect shutdowns, developers will not have access to the portal, while content delivery services are to be taken offline for a brief period. iTunes Connect is a tool used by developers to manage apps sold through the App Store, including updates, pricing changes, and description modifications.

Apple usually schedules a major iTunes Connect winter closure every year, traditionally toward the end of December, during which time app price changes and other App Store modifications are delayed.

My thoughts as well. One would like to dream this to be true.

Hmm I haven't got the email yet.

I guess with so many developers now, it takes a while to send all the notifications out.
