Shoppers in several European countries can now reserve an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus for pick up this Friday, when Apple will bring the devices to 40 more regions on top of the original 12.
In places such as Belgium, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands, people interested in reserving an iPhone can choose the model, capacity, color, and store they want at Apple's website. In-store stock of the 6s Plus appears to be extremely low, and in the case of Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands, completely unavailable.
Each shopper is limited to two iPhones, and must pick them up within a 30-minute window before Apple makes the units available to others. A government photo ID is required for verification.
Other regions getting new iPhones on Oct. 9 include Andorra, Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Taiwan.
Apple is planning to launch the 6s and 6s Plus in more than 130 countries by the end of 2015. The next steps include rollouts in the Middle East on Oct. 10, and launches in India, Malaysia, and Turkey on Oct. 16.
