How to stream the 2020 Democratic debates on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV

The first Democratic candidate debates for 2020's U.S. Presidential elections are happening Wednesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 27, both at 9 p.m. Eastern time. Here's how to tune in from any Apple device you might have.

If you're on a Mac you have a range of options. The debates are being hosted by NBC, which is livestreaming them via nbcnews.com and msnbc.com. For some people it may be more convenient to stream via NBC's YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter feeds.

On iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs, the simplest option may be to use the NBC News app. The debates are free to watch regardless of which platform you're on.

You should also be able to watch via YouTube's own iOS and Apple TV apps, though you may have to search for NBC if the streams aren't featured on your homepage.

It's perhaps unnecessary, but yet another alternative is tuning in via an internet TV service. YouTube TV is the safest choice in that regard, since it automatically includes NBC, MSNBC, and unlimited cloud DVR recording — meaning that if you can't watch live, you'll still be covered. Sling TV and PlayStation Vue are two other solid choices, especially the former, since while DVR functions are $5 extra the base plan with NBC (Blue) is just $15 per month.

Note that live TV services typically offer a free one-week trial, so if all you care about is this week's debates, you can subscribe and immediately cancel.

Wednesday's debate will feature 10 candidates, such as Beto O'Rourke, Julian Castro, Sen. Cory Booker, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Thursday's event will have another 10, including Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Kamala Harris, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
