Apple has shared the "The Device That Saved Me" video that depicts the stories of people who's lives have been changed or saved by using health features on Apple Watch.
Apple Watch with blood oxygen detection
Parts of the video debuted before the Apple Watch Series 6 was announced during the event. It depicts the stories of three individuals who's lives had been changed by an aspect of the Apple Watch.
One was able to take advantage of a wireless insulin tracker connected to Apple Watch to view her blood sugar at a glance. Another was able to turn their life around using fitness tracking and workouts with the Watch. The last was saved by an alert on the Watch that warned him before going into cardiac arrest.
Apple has long touted the life saving aspects of Apple Watch with Jeff Williams at the forefront. The COO played a key role in Apple Watch development and claims it is his favorite part of the day opening emails from users who's lives have been changed by the wearable.
Apple shared a similar video depicting people saved by Apple Watch in 2019. There will only be more stories like these as Apple improves the Apple Watch and its health-facing features. The Apple Watch Series 6 has a blood oxygen detector and is now available to pre-order and begins shipping September 18.
